Sergio Ramos reportedly closing in on the purchase of LaLiga side Sevilla
The bond between Sergio Ramos and Sevilla runs deep. The centre-back came up through the youth academy at Nervion and spent three seasons with the first team, playing as a right-back, before moving to Real Madrid.
After 16 seasons with Los Blancos and two at PSG, he returned to the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan for a season before signing with Monterrey.
Ramos' name has always been linked to Sevilla. A few months ago, it was as a potential signing. Now, it's as an investor.
The rumour is so strong, according to 'Cadena Ser', that apparently a significant part of the club's board has agreed to negotiate the offer presented by the World Cup winner with Spain (which is said to be around 450 million euros).
The same source reports that the shareholders have signed a letter of intent (committing to negotiate exclusively with Ramos for the sale of the club), which would allow the World Cup winner, among other things, to review the club's financial situation.
His partner Martin Ink, a key figure at Five Eleven Capital, is also involved in the agreement.
With the offer on the table, the group representing Sergio Ramos can now carry out an audit of the Sevilla club, which has experienced both highs and lows financially in recent years.
